M1911
From Medal of Honor
The M1911(A1) is a .45 ACP-firing pistol designed by John Browning and was adopted by the United States armed forces in 1911. The M1911 was originally envisioned as side-arm and the personal defense weapon for non-combat personel, but it was replaced in the latter role by the M1 Carbine during World War II.
The M1911 had a very long life, going through World War I, II, Korea, Vietnam and Desert Storm (despite being officially replaced by the M9, the M1911 still served in Desert Storm due to the war starting before all of the M9s necessary could be made). Even today, the M1911 is still in use by certain elements of the United States military, such as the Force Recon portion of the Marines and other special forces.
The M1911 was used used by the Royal Navy in .455 Webley Automatic during WWI. After the war, the M1911s were transferred to the Royal Air Force, which used the guns as emergency weapons for aviators that needed to bail out. They were officially retired after WWII.

In Allied Assault, the M1911 is the primary sidearm of the United States. It does mediocre damage, but it has low recoil. The M1911 is best used as a close quarters weapon for Springfield users, as the Springfield is clumsy to use at that range. It can also be used as a emergency weapon should the player encounter enemy forces in the open while having to reload his main weapon. The M1911 has a fairly fast rate of fire than most other pistols.

Exactly the same as it is in Allied Assault. Since the US forces can now use a regular bolt-action rifle, the M1911 is a great weapon to use while traveling through close-quarters.
