M1 Carbine

From Medal of Honor

The M1 Carbine is a semi-automatic gas-operated shoulder weapon firing the small .30 Carbine round. Designed to give non-combatant personnel a easy weapon to use in self-defense, it is not meant for heavy combat. The M1 Carbine was success and was preferred over other PDWs like the M3 submachine gun. Between WWII and Korea, the M1 was updated to the M2 Carbine, capable of fully-automatic fire, And for the Paratrooper Divisions, the Carbine was modified with a foldable wire stock and was worn in canvas leg-bags.

After the M1 Carbine was retired early in the Vietnam War, some M1s were given to South Vietnamese forces, whose bodies were better-suited for the light Carbine than a heavier weapon.

In Pacific Assault, the M1 Carbine is an amazing little weapon. While it deals much less penetration damage than the M1 Garand, it still does massive surface damage. The Carbine has a 15-round box magazine, making it easier to suppress the enemy than the M1 rifle. It's accuracy is good, allowing it to score medium-range hits without too much ammo wastage. It's a great Carbine for those that don't want to be bothered with the M1 Garand's historically incorrect quirks, but want a semi-automatic weapon.

In single-player, the M1 Carbine can be found when you get to Henderson Field and during the assault on Makin Atoll when the first member of your squad shoots himself accidentally in the foot, and is then killed by a sniper.
