MP40

From Medal of Honor

The MP40 is a submachine gun designed and used by Germany throughout World War II. Designed in 1938, then revised in 1940, the MP40 is the first SMG made entirely out of pressed, machined and stamped parts and had no wood used in the making of it. The MP40 was generally issued to squad leaders instead of everybody (as portrayed in the Medal of Honor series).

After the war, the MP40 was adopted by Israel and used by their paratroopers until 1956. In Yuogslavia, a copy (the M56) firing the 7.62x25mm round was made.

The MP40 is Germany's SMG. With it's 32-round magazine, the MP40 can put a little more hurt on the target than the Thompson. However, in most games, it has worse accuracy, so you must use burst firing if you want to aim at a target from medium range. Don't even try at long range. The weapon itself can be extremely deady if the Germans use it in large numbers, often giving you no chance of attacking back until they reload. It is especially deadly should snipers and rifleman work in conjunction with those wielding the MP40.

At some points, the weapon itself is used more often than the Mauser rifles most notably at indoor areas. It is used by all variants of German troops.
