Mk 2 grenade

From Medal of Honor

The Mk II grenade is a grenade used by the United States Armed Forces during World War II. Based off the failed Mk I design, the MK II is one of the most iconic grenades in the world, frequently seen on pictures as a generic grenade. Despite it's fame, the Mk II had some flaws, such as it's low blast radius and fuse that emits excessive smoke and sparks.

The Mk II is usually given to you at the start of a mission, but there's never any extra ammo. Instead, you must scavenge enemy Stielhandgrenates.

Like all grenades in AA, the Mk II is best used to force enemies out of a position, such as from behind a box. Troops will always run away at the sight of a grenade, making it rare that it'll kill one. Up to 4 grenades can be carried while the German M24 allows 6 to be held though the MK II is considered superior since it has a larger blast impact and even though enemies may run from it, some actually tend to throw themselves on one to save their own comrades. While there is not much use needed for it, it can be used extensively in Allied Assault at the final levels of Fort Schmerzen since normal firepower sometimes isnt enough to take down numerous soldiers wielding STG-44 assault rifles.

The Mk II is used by the United States Marines. Like in AA, the Mk II should be used to force enemies out of hardpoints, this time because of it's small explosion range.

In Boot Camp, you use MK IIs designed for training.

Of note is that the Mk. II used in PA is the high-explosive type, not the usual, shrapnel-throwing Mk II.
