P38
From Medal of Honor
The P38 is a 9x19mm pistol designed by Walther and used by the Germans throughout World War II. The P38 was intended as a cheap alternate to the costly Luger. Despite that, it never truly replaced the Luger. Prototype versions in .45 ACP and .38 Super were made, but never produced.
The P38 is a remarkable weapon, as it utilizes a double-action trigger and the 9x19mm round. Previous pistols were single-action, making it harder to use. It's eight-round magazine also gave it an edge over it's contemporary pistols, such as the M1911 and Webley.
After the creation of the West German Army in 1957, the P38 was revived as the P1 and utilized as the army's primary pistol until the 1990s, where it was replaced by the H&K USP

In Allied Assault, the German's P38 is your average pistol; good accuracy, mediocre damage and a small (8 round) magazine. Despite that, it's a good weapon for users of a bolt-action rifle, as bolt-action rifles are terrible in close quarters battles. The P38 was enough firepower to get bolt-action users out of a CQC situation. It's issued to every class with varying ammo.
The P38 is frequently seen in single-player, but can only be used in Breakthrough for significant use. While a common sidearm used by mainly German officers, truck drivers, tank crew members, workers and even scientists use it as their only weapon and can use it with good effect, firing with a high rate.
