The PPSh-41 is a submachine gun used by the Soviet Union during WWII. The PPSh was born from the initial scramble for cheap weapons after the Germans invaded. Originally designed with a 35-round box magazine in mind, in can fit a custom 72-round drum magazine. However, most troops used only one drum magazine, then put in regular box mags when the drum ran out.
After the war, the PPSh-41 and 43s was exported to many Eastern Bloc and Soviet-aligned movements and countries, such as China.
The PPSh-41 is primarily used as a close-quarter weapon, mainly as a personal defense weapon for tank crews and bodyguards protecting anti-tank weapon users.
[edit] In-game
The PPSh's magazine is a whopping 71 rounds, giving it the most firepower of all the SMGs. In addition, it has controllable recoil, making it easy to use. It's power is about the same as the other SMGs, making it a great weapon. IT is only used by the player in the mission to Berlin at Spearhead and has no other appearances whatsoever given the fact that the Americans and the Russians were far away from each other during the war until its end.
The PPSh-41 is used by the Russians.
