Sten

From Medal of Honor

The Stens are a series of submachine guns used by Britain during World War II. Like the PPSH, the Sten was born from an immediate need for weapons that could be made in nearly any factory. While somewhat crude-looking, the Sten was highly effective. The most recognized out of all the Stens was the Mark II, which was essentially a pipe fitted with a wire stock and a magazine sticking out of the pipe. Other models tried to make it looks like a real weapon. The Mark 5, for example, had wood furniture over the stock and gave the Sten a pistol grip.

The Sten was issued to partisan movements over Nazi-occupied France, as it was easy to break down the Sten into concealable parts. Later on, it was widely used during the Israeli War for independence, partially because of how easy it was to manufacture.

In Spearhead, the Sten Mark 5 is Britain's submachine gun. It is first used in Spearhead after you encounter British paratroopers and seems to be fairly effective for a submachine gun, having low recoil and a somewhat better accuracy than the Thompson and the MP40. However, it does not do as much damage. It has 30 rounds per magazine. The Sten Mark 5 is also used in Breakthrough albeit with scarce ammunition available. Although it is much better for handling further-ranged targets, it should not be used for long-range combat due to its nature. While not found during a mission, the gun is used by the player during the start of one.
