In allied assault, the M1897 is a beast. It's able to take out anybody with one hit in one shot if they're close enough, making the better for CQC than even submachine guns. Even at middle-range, the shotgun can take off a vast majority of an enemy's health with one shot. The shotgun can be found in single player in the fourth mission. Its main weaknesses is that it only carries 5 rounds (so make each shot count!) and can take a long time to reload much like the Springfield sniper rifle. This can be especially annoying should you run out of ammo during the middle of a heated gunfight.

Be careful, if you use it in multiplayer, you might get called a noob or cheap.
